Outlook Express Configuration
for use with mail.Omniweb.com
These instructions are for Outlook Express. For regular Outlook, click here.
Please configure your email account as shown in the examples below.
View the Properties of your Omniweb Pop Account. You may need to create a new POP Email account if
you are setting this up for the first time.
POP Account Properties, General Tab: The information here will be seen in your outgoing emails.
Verify that your email address is entered correctly in the "E-mail address" field.
Incoming and Outoing mail server: You can use "mail.omniweb.com" or you might have "mail.YOUR
DOMAIN" in these fields. If you're not sure, use mail.omniweb.com for both.
Do NOT check "Log on
using Secure Password Authentication".
Check "My server requires authentication" to enable outgoing email
through mail.omniweb.com.
Click on the Settings tab and use the "same as incoming" option as shown. Then click "OK".
Don't change the other two tabs (Connection, Security). Go to
the Advanced tab and set as shown. These are the recommended and most secure settings for your email communication.
Alternatively, you can use any or all of the settings shown in this example. Although your
communication will not be encrypted,
they will work and may be useful if you're having trouble with the recommended settings.
If you receive a warning message like this while checking or sending mail, click "Yes" to continue.
This can usually be resolved by changing your incoming server, on the servers tab, from mail.YOUR_DOMAIN to mail.omniweb.com
